Pre-planting soil sample results are back
Soil analysis is back from the lab and at face value I'm pleased with the results.

pH is solid at 6.3 - to put this in perspective The Willamette Valley, Oregon's self proclaimed exclusive hop growing region has pH levels that varies from 5.0 - 7.0.

Potassium(K) levels are also excellent and exceed whats required for a healthy high-yield hop yard.

Soil Salinity is very low which was great news, as High levels of sodium are detrimental to soil structure, soil permeability, and plant growth, a problem encountered east of the Cascade Mountain Range (which is exactly where we are located and why we wanted these results)

Waiting for the Ag Mans full review of the the key growing nutrient levels and his recommendations for building a rich soil profile mindful of our desire not to introduce unnecessary fertilizers into our fields and ultimately into our watershed.
